Professor: Dr. Jane Giacobbe-Miller Welcome to Mgt 314. The purpose of this course is to examine theories and processes of human resource management and to develop skills in state-of-the-art practices. The content of this course will include an extended section on employment law as well as sections on the human resource management techniques of job analysis, job evaluation, employee selection, performance appraisal, compensation, labor relations, international human resource management and team-based management. The required textbook for this course is Fundamental of Human Resource Management by Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart and Wright. The book is available in the Jeffrey Amherst Bookstore. It is important that readings be done in preparation for class. Cases will also be assigned that are based on the readings.
